Sweetie! Look, look.. there's your grandma!"
Sylvia: "Oh my goodness! She is so beautiful!
I can go home now. Thank you."
Jamie: "You're welcome!"
Sylvia: [softly] "No.. [pause] I mean.. thank *you*!"
Theresa's mnemonics:

while Paul valiantly tries to catch a few winks before an
important meeting with a Belgian distributor.

Jamie: "That's a very sweet thing to say."
Ira: "Yeah, that's.. that's what I happen to feel."
Jamie: "Is that you talking, or Paul?"
Ira: "Oh, it's me."
Jamie: "You swear?"
Ira: "Yes!"
Jamie: "Why doesn't Paul ever say things like that?"
Ira: "Well, I can only speak for myself."

- Jamie: "I am having a hair problem. I'm having a clothing
problem, because suddenly I'm shaped like a Dr. Seuss
character. So I'm not dying to be seen in public
right now!"
Paul: "All right sweetie.. it's 3 painless hours--"
Jamie: "It's 'Pirates of Penzance' performed by your parents!"
- Paul: "So now, I've got to eat some ice-cream, I've got
to run back, I've got to beg my mother to do the part.
That'll be another mallet to the knee-cap of an already
limping production..
[pause, Jamie has stopped eating her ice-cream]
Aw, sweetie, it's okay. It's just a play. [pause]
You, you're slowing down on the Chubby Hubby there.
What's the matter then?"
Jamie: "I don't deserve Chubby Hubby."
Paul: "Sure you do.. Hey! try some of this!"
Jamie: "I don't deserve the World's Best Vanilla."
Paul: "Sure.. Why? [reading the label on the carton]
Because of the calories?"
Jamie: "No, because I'm a bad person. [pause]
What's that supposed to mean about the calories?"

Jamie: "Look! Do you think she knows we're going out?"
Arley: "They know everything, they just can't say."
- Jamie: "Excuse me, may I use your phone?"
Ursula: "Yeah.. it's kind of in my house, so I'm not
real comfortable with that."
- Arley: "You walk Murray at night?"
Nat: "Yes. [long pause] He finds it-- uh, you know,
the streets are less crowded, you know? Less full
of other distractions, uh, other dogs."
Nat's Mabel-isms:
Mabel Mercer.
Mabel not today, Mabel not tomorrow, but soon and
for the rest of your life.

So this time, me and the villagers, we are not even
going to make the trip. We are just going to stay
here and make bricks."
- Paul: "It is all a matter of credibility and..
[turning to Jamie] the fact that you have none."
Jamie: "Why do you insist on spoiling what was a
perfectly great experience?"
Sheila: "Paul, Jamie sounds awfully sincere to me."
Paul: "Are you, like, ever on my side?"
- Paul: "Honey, I'm a guy."
Jamie: "So?"
Paul: "So it means nothing."
Jamie: "Thanks!"
Paul: "I mean, I could do that in my sleep!"
