A small introduction to the show and some facts If you don't know anything about this show here's a little background information. Mad About You is about a married couple, Paul and Jamie Buchman, who live in a New York City apartment. Paul is a filmmaker/documentarian and Jamie has worked with advertising and PR at several places. Other characters on the show are Paul's and Jamie's dog Murray, Paul's cousin Ira, Jamie's sister Lisa, and Jamie's friend Fran. Paul and Jamie met in December of 1989 at a newsstand (where Jamie hi-jacked Paul's newspaper) and they were married in 1992. Jamie recently gave birth to their first child, a girl named Mabel. The name Mabel came from one of the mnemonics of Jamie's mother and stands for Mothers Always Bring Extra Love.
